Hagerstown Children's School is a non-sectarian, non-public, not-for-profit preschool and kindergarten, combined with a supporting child care program. We are dedicated to providing a positive and supportive environment, with attention to the optimum development of each individual child. The goals of our programs are to:
Foster self-directed learning, good work habits, self-confidence and self-reliance, creative thinking and problem-solving skills
Nurture each child's own sense of wonder and joy of learning
The Hagerstown Children's School is licensed by the Office of Child Care and approved by the Maryland State Department of Education as a nonpublic school. We currently offer classes for children two years of age through Kindergarten.
The school was founded by a group of parents and teachers to provide an excellent non-traditional education for their own children, using the Montessori philosophy and learning materials as a foundation for the curriculum.
