Summer Camp

Summer Camp 2

HCS offers multiple, one-week topic-based summer camps for primary students every year. Our camps are designed to be entertaining and educational. We incorporate the Montessori methods in the presentation of creative and fun themes. 

 

 

 

Enrollment Begins March 8, 2022

Current students and Alumni students are encouraged to register. 

 

Registration Requirements

  • All children must have previously attended Hagerstown Children’s School and be 3-6 (summer after completing Kindergarten) years old 

  • If you have had a break in attendance, an updated copy of your child’s health and emergency forms must be submitted before the first day of camp.

  • All children must be independent in the bathroom.

 

Schedule

Each camp day is Monday – Friday. We may offer a choice of a morning (8:30 - 12:30) or a full day (8:30 - 3:30) session. The Before and After School Care program is not open for the summer program schedule. Lunches are not provided, please pack your child's lunch.

 

2022 Primary Camp Dates

June 13th - 17th: "Rainforest"
We will be exploring the vast ecosystem of the rainforest. Students will learn about the plants and animals that thrive there and why the rainforest is so important to the health of the whole world.

June 20th - 24th: "Bugs, Butterflies and Spiders, Oh My!"
Insects and arachnids are fascinating, and we will get to explore the difference between the two.

July 18th - 22nd: "Destination Science"
Students will be transformed into scientists as they discover physics, biology, chemistry, zoology and earth science.

July 25th - 29th: "Around the World in 5 Days"
Come take a trip with us, as we explore 5 unique countries from around the world. Culture, food, language; we will have it all!

August 8th - 12th: "Camp Grow"
From seed to flower to fruit. Students will get their hands dirty as they discover how a tiny seed grows into an amazing plant that produces flowers, fruits and vegetables. We will also learn about why bees are so important to the growing process.
